The Suite Life at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore
The spotlight is on Singapore today. Known as the Garden City, Singapore is a dynamic destination rich in contrast and color. This marvelous modern metropolis in Asia with tall skyscrapers, beautiful botanical gardens, colonial houses and quaint streets has much to offer. Furthermore, Singapore is a luxury lover’s dream of high-end boutiques as well as top hotels. For a snapshot of Singapore’s ambitions, look at the massive development on Marina Bay.
In the heart of Marina Bay, a 5-minute walk from Marina Square Shopping Centre, you’ll find a seven-acre garden oasis offering an anything-you-ask service, exclusive Club Lounge on level 32, five-star facilities and stunning views of the Singapore skyline. The hotel’s landmark waterfront site is within walking distance of the Singapore Flyer, Integrated Resort, Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (Suntec City) and the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.
Sick of staying in broom closets? Then this 32-storey large & luxurious hotel in Singapore is the place for you. The superb rooms are above-average spacious (the smallest room is 51 m2) and some suites are so big you’ll think you’re hallucinating. Everything is just big here: the building, driveway, accommodation, beds, breakfast room, hallway, stairs and even the artworks (4,200 art pieces in total). Framed by lush foliage and Marina Bay, The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore appeals to big city sharks from around the world as well as Asian tycoons and their Gucci-adorned wives seeking an exclusive escape.
Luxuriously decorated with a modern art collection – including art pieces by renowned artists such as David Hockney, Andy Warhol and Henry Moore -, The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore is designed by Howard Hirsch (only the public spaces), while Pritzler Prize-winning architect Kevin Roche of KRJDA was responsible for the design of the rooms & suites. Frank Stella’s Cornucopia artwork in the 12m-high lobby of Italian marble is really spectacular and the corridors at The Ritz hotel in Singapore are like mini-museums, displaying lots of different paintings and art installations.
Offering views of either Marina Bay or the Kallang River and Singapore city skyline, the 608 rooms, including 18 one-bedroom Millenia Suites & three two-bedroom Millenia Suites, boast floor-to-ceiling windows and modern amenities such as LED TV’s, mood lighting, iPod docks and electrical blinds. If you have cash to splash, look at the suites where refreshing spaciousness and killer views prevail. Presenting the highest level of comfort and luxury, the 60 m2 Club Premier Suite, which was our exclusive home for a couple of days, is wow-worthy. We were blown away by the view from both sides (Marina Bay view and Singapore Flyer; the world’s largest observation wheel). The beds are large enough for several luxury lovers at once and the exclusive access to the Club Lounge, offering a set of services and amenities, is really convenient. You just feel so pampered here with services such as the complimentary limousine service around the precinct and The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge serving complimentary food & beverage presentations throughout the day.
This Singapore luxury hotel has four restaurants, ranging from a cocktail lounge to a fantastic Cantonese restaurant. Do you want to dine & drink somewhere else? Go to Moshe Safdie’s 200m-high Marina Bay Sands: a resort which has three towers housing a hotel, casino, a luxury mall, restaurants and much more. Ce La Vi Singapore – former Ku De Ta -, atop of Marina Bay Sands, is where you live the high life. Here, you can enjoy the most spectacular city views you can imagine. Back to the hotel. The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore hotel is a breakfast Walhalla, although it can be super busy in the huge breakfast room.
Ready for a little relaxation? After a long day of work or shopping on Orchard Road – a New York’s Fifth Avenue look-a-like -, guests can unwind at the outdoor pool amongst landscaped gardens. There’s a sauna plus steam room and massages, body treatments & facials are available at the spa. Fitness fanatics can check out the big (again) spa.
